As the world continues to go through extraordinary times and we embrace a completely digital idiom, books, ideas and discourse are vital as is the importance of ensuring a free flow of knowledge and information.

The iconic Jaipur Literature Festival, held annually at the Pink City of Jaipur, Rajasthan, has always believed in the spirit of community and the hope, strength and vitality literature gives. As we distance ourselves from each other physically, Teamwork Arts, the producer of the Jaipur Literature Festival, goes on curating international editions of JLF, which traditionally infuse the multilingual literary heritage of South Asia with the distinct flavor of the host regions, in the digital space with a diverse and engaged community of book-lovers.

While the world grappled with lockdowns and recurring waves of Covid-19, Teamwork Arts, launched ‘JLF Brave New World’, ‘JLF First Edition’, ‘JLF Voices of Faith’ and ‘JLF WORDS ARE BRIDGES’, an eclectic mix of online series of conversations, featuring Nobel Laureates, Man Booker, Pulitzer, Commonwealth, Sahitya Akademi, Crossword, and JCB award-winning writers, and reached out to over 4 million people!

After the success of their first virtual edition in 2020, this year, Teamwork Arts in association with the Consulate General of India, Houston, Indo-American Association, Asia Society Texas Center, and Inprint bring you JLF Houston Online. We shall celebrate the unique culture, diversity and energy of the Bayou City with the heady freedom of the virtual world and the boundless possibilities of the internet. Everything else remains the same - the camaraderie, the caravan of ideas, and the magical flow of conversations.
